Grooming Trails for Ride for Dad

Volunteers have been out several times in the last week, and will continue to be out every day until the Ride for Dad rally this Saturday.

Trails are looking great and will hopefully continue to get better and better as our volunteers work tirelessly throughout the week.

Cold Temperatures and Drifting Snow

Mother Nature has not been cooperating with us this winter.  Trails are currently all open, although we haven’t been able to clear many snow drifts.  Please be prepared to push/pull/winch through areas of deep drifted snow if you decide to hit the trails.

Saturday Feb 7, 2015

Volunteers spent 8 hours grooming today.  More volunteers will be on the trails tomorrow to finish grooming the main loop.

Winter Trail Status

Volunteers had the groomers out again today and report that all trails are passable and trails are in good condition.

2015 Winter Fun Run

A total of 56 riders were out for the 2015 Fun Run yesterday.  The cold snap finally lifted to make the day perfect for winter riding.  Volunteers had the trials in great shape, and two of our club sponsors stepped up to feed the masses.  The Country Kitchen in Winchester whipped up a great breakfast and Sandy Row Golf Course did a great job of feeding an over-full dining room (we even had the patio open to accommodate the overflow)!  The objective of this ride was to introduce new riders to our trails, provide a group for people who enjoy riding in larger groups and showcase what winter riding is all about.  Mission Accomplished 🙂

Out and About

WarmingShackWardens

Multiple groups of wardens were out on the trails today. Reports indicate that a good number of our members were out enjoying the trails as well. They fixed an unusually large number of signs that had been pulled on the east end of the loop. Trails are in excellent riding condition.

Warden Reports

NVATVC wardens were present on all trails today.  They report the trails are muddy, but passable.  Trees fallen in the recent windstorms have been cleared.
